If you have Astro Gold on iPhones, iPads and/or Mac computers, you can share your chart files between them courtesy of Apple’s iCloud Drive.  First, though, you need to make sure it is turned on on each device you use, and that you are logged into the iCloud Drive with the exact same Apple ID or email address….you cannot share files between your devices if they are logged into two different iCloud Drive accounts.

IPHONE AND IPAD

The first step is to make sure that you have the iCloud Drive turned on in your device settings.  The following screenshots are from an iPhone, but the procedure is the same for the iPad.

Click on the Settings icon on your iPhone or iPad to get to the Settings screen.  You should see near the top your name, and an arrow you can click on to get to the iCloud.

Once you have clicked on the arrow, scroll down if necessary until you see the word iCloud and click on it

Now, look for the iCloud Drive and, if it is not turned on, click on the button so it turns green

Now exit settings, and open up Astro Gold.

Click on the Settings app at the bottom of your device.

Look at the bottom of the settings page.  If it says iCloud Drive Enabled you are done with setup.  But if it says iCloud Drive Disabled, click on it

You will then get a message with the heading Charts are Stored Locally.  Click on the words Switch to iCloud

You should now see that the iCloud Drive is Enabled, and you are done setting up on this device.

MAC COMPUTER

First, make sure the iCloud Drive is enabled on your Mac.

Click on the Apple menu icon in the upper left corner of your Mac.  Click on System Preferences.  Click on iCloud. Tick the box for iCloud Drive to enable it.

Once you have enabled it, you can check to make sure it shows up on your Mac under Favorites.

Now open Astro Gold.  It should communicate with the iCloud Drive, and you should then see Astro Gold showing as an item in iCloud.  Click on it and you should see your chart files to the right.
